Swansea Vikings

Swansea Vikings is an inclusive rugby club based at Swansea Uplands RFC in Upper Killay, Swansea. Established in 2015, the team provides a welcoming space for people both within and outside the LGBTQ+ community to enjoy rugby, build friendships and find a sense of belonging. The club is part of Inclusive Gay Rugby (IGR), a worldwide network of more than 100 teams, and participates each year in the UK’s southern IGR development league.

New members are welcome at any time, whatever their background or experience. Players who have never played rugby can learn the sport from scratch with support from the team and a dedicated coach. Training takes place every Wednesday from 7pm to 8.30pm at Swansea Uplands RFC, and visitors can join in or watch from the sidelines.

Alongside rugby, Swansea Vikings works to increase inclusivity in Welsh sport and welcomes support from local businesses and organisations. People interested in joining or asking questions can contact the club’s community officer by email or through its social media.
