Swarh is the South West Alliance Of Rural Health, an alliance of public health agencies in the South West of Victoria. Covering an expansive area of approximately 60,000 square kilometers, Swarh connects all public acute hospitals and associated health services in a region extending from west of Melbourne to the South Australian Border. Established in late 1997, Swarh's main objective is the development of IT for the Acute Public Hospitals in the South West Region of Victoria.
Recognizing the limitations of individual agencies, Swarh seeks to enhance service delivery and maximize returns on investment by pooling resources and expertise. Supported by the Department of Human Services, Swarh is fortunate to have a dedicated group of Chief Executive Officers and Hospital Boards who value the importance of investing in technology to improve healthcare provisions. Their collaboration has allowed Swarh to overcome individual constraints and facilitate advancements in the healthcare industry.
