SWAT Florida

SWAT Florida, or Students Working Against Tobacco, is a statewide youth organization that mobilizes, educates, and equips young people to challenge the tobacco industry and promote a tobacco-free future. Its mission is to help youth speak out against tobacco, reduce its appeal, and protect their peers and communities from its harms. The organization describes itself as a movement rather than a club, bringing together more than 4,300 active youth through over 300 clubs across Florida.

SWAT provides opportunities for young people to learn about tobacco and nicotine, share prevention messages, and take part in advocacy. Its campaigns address issues including vaping, smokeless tobacco, secondhand smoke, tobacco retail advertising, smoke-free housing, and tobacco-free schools. Members can join local clubs, connect with peers, and contribute to youth-led advocacy through initiatives such as the Youth Advocacy Board. The website also offers educational resources, an interactive timeline, galleries, a calendar, and a blog. Through education, peer engagement, and collaboration, SWAT Florida works to empower young people to influence change and support healthier communities.
