Swedish Book Review

Swedish Book Review (SBR) is a renowned brand that has been presenting Swedish-language literature to the English-speaking world since its establishment in 1983. Our mission is to offer a comprehensive and independent outlook on Sweden's vibrant literary landscape. Through feature articles, translated extracts, interviews, book reviews, and more, we showcase a wide range of literature including children's fiction, graphic novels, narrative non-fiction, and poetry.

We prioritize diversity and inclusivity, addressing different gender issues, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and life experiences. SBR is editorially independent and receives funding from the Swedish Arts Council, as well as grants from various organizations like the Swedish Academy and the Anglo-Swedish Literary Foundation. Our contributors, many of whom have garnered translation prizes and awards, have extensive experience in the field.

SBR is proud to be published by Norvik Press and is the official journal of SELTA (the Swedish-English Literary Translators' Association). In addition, we launched a full website and membership package in 2021, granting exclusive access to our online archive and member benefits.
