About Swedwatch
Swedwatch is an independent, non-profit research organization that has been advancing human rights in business since 2003. Their mission is to empower rights holders and promote responsible business practices. Through extensive research and dialogue, Swedwatch sheds light on the impacts of unsustainable business operations on people and the environment, working to bridge the gap between stakeholders and drive meaningful change.
Swedwatch focuses on three priority areas: natural resources, supply chains, and civic space and defenders. Their long-term goals revolve around promoting responsible use of natural resources, building sustainable supply chains, and expanding civic spaces. Operating on the basis of international human rights and environmental law, Swedwatch adheres to various guidelines and principles, including the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, Paris Agreement, and Sustainable Development Goals in the 2030 Agenda.
Swedwatch's work is funded through grants, membership fees, and external commissions, including support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and other institutional donors. To learn more about their activities, you can access their annual highlights report. If you're interested in contacting Swedwatch, their office is located in Stockholm, Sweden.
