Swietlice

Miejskie Świetlice Socjoterapeutyczne w Gnieźnie is a municipal network of four after-school support centres serving children and young people across the city. Established in 2003, the centres provide a safe, welcoming place for around 100 children, particularly those facing family, social, emotional or learning difficulties. Their work is designed to support healthy development, strengthen families and help prevent social exclusion and risky behaviours.

Open on weekday afternoons throughout the year, the centres offer educational, therapeutic and recreational activities tailored to children’s needs. Services include help with homework, socotherapeutic and counselling sessions, occupational therapy, sports and recreation, and educational, preventive and artistic programmes. Group activities build social, emotional and communication skills, while psychological support is available both individually and in groups. Staff also help children manage school and personal challenges and develop positive relationships.

The centres work in partnership with families, schools and relevant public institutions. Their programme is prepared annually by the educational team, with activities adapted to each group’s development and circumstances.
