Swivells is a brand that offers dance-inspired footwear designed for both style and comfort. Founded in 2017 by Amélie and Christophe, who were passionate about Lindy Hop, a 1930s swing dance, Swivells was born out of a need for shoes that could withstand the demands of dancing while still being suitable for everyday wear. Amélie, who previously worked in the film industry, realized the importance of creating shoes specifically tailored to the needs of swing dancers after experiencing foot pain during the European Swing Championships in 2015.

Together with Christophe, they embarked on a two-year journey to find the perfect materials, artisan craftsmen, and production techniques to create the ideal swing dance shoe. Swivells shoes are carefully handcrafted in small family-owned workshops in Portugal and Spain, ensuring attention to detail and high-quality craftsmanship. The brand prioritizes comfort by using techniques such as selecting flexible materials, hand-sewn stitching for a comfortable fit, and cushioned insoles made with premium foam.

In addition to their dedication to comfort, Swivells is committed to sustainability. They have introduced a new material made from corn and recycled plastic bottles, which reduces the environmental impact of their shoe production. These eco-friendly materials result in a 13% lighter carbon footprint, use 44% less non-renewable energy, and emit 32% fewer harmful emissions compared to standard shoe manufacturing processes.
