SWPPA (Southwestern Pennsylvania Partnership for Aging) is a volunteer-led organization founded in 1988. With over 300 members representing more than one million older adults across 10 counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania, SWPPA strives to improve the quality of life for all people, especially the elderly. They serve as a catalyst for policy, program, and systems change.
As a neutral forum, SWPPA facilitates collaboration, education, networking, and advocacy. Their membership includes a diverse range of individuals, businesses, organizations, professionals in aging services, medical professionals, scholars, and civic leaders. SWPPA offers both individual and organizational/business memberships, engaging their members through various avenues such as education, training, advocacy, networking, and collaborative efforts.
Members are also given the opportunity to serve on one or more of their committees. SWPPA recognizes outstanding contributions with awards such as the Charles W. Pruitt/Mary Anne Kelly Awards of Excellence, which acknowledge individuals who have made a significant impact in aging services.
Join SWPPA to make a positive difference in the lives of older adults and contribute to the mission of creating age-friendly communities
