About SPW
Sexuality Policy Watch (SPW) is a global forum of researchers and activists focused on the critical analysis of the prevailing conditions in sexual politics landscapes globally. Established in 2002 as the International Working Group on Sexuality and Social Policy (IWGSSP), SPW has since become a credible source of updated information on various sexual rights issues, such as abortion, gender-based sexual violence, LGBTI rights, and HIV/AIDS. The forum also conducts strategic analysis and capacity-building programs aimed at fostering political change through sexuality research.
Co-chaired by Richard Parker and Sonia Corrêa, SPW's esteemed Advisory Group and partnerships with regional and international organizations further solidify its commitment to advocating for human rights and promoting sexual and reproductive health. Based at the Brazilian Interdisciplinary AIDS Association (ABIA), SPW continues to lead the discourse on sexual politics globally, confronting the ethical and political conflicts surrounding sexuality in today's world
