Sykkyrä is a cancer association that brings together and supports families affected by childhood cancer. Through activities for member families, the organisation creates opportunities to connect, share experiences and enjoy time together. Its programme includes family events, seasonal gatherings and outings, as well as recreational activities designed to help children and parents try something new. Recent activities have included curling, padel, minigolf, climbing, pottery, bowling and swimming, alongside family celebrations and winter events.

Sykkyrä also organises experiences for families with specific needs, including shopping sessions arranged before shops open for people who are especially vulnerable to infections. The association takes part in awareness and fundraising initiatives related to childhood cancer, such as Children’s Cancer Day and the “Together” ice hockey campaign. Families can follow its events and activities through social media, support its work or become members. Sykkyrä works with local businesses, community groups and other partners to make activities possible, and acknowledges the contributions of its member families, volunteers, supporters and collaborators.
