DB Sylt Shuttle, operated by DB Fernverkehr AG, provides car-train services connecting Niebüll on the mainland with Westerland on the island of Sylt. The service lets travelers take their vehicles across in around 35 minutes, with more than 12,100 trains each year, up to 36 daily departures and capacity for up to 165 vehicle spaces per train. It carries passenger cars, motorhomes, caravans and other vehicle types.
Customers can plan journeys and buy one-way or return tickets online or at the terminal. Online options include discounted fares, Comfort tickets with a space reservation and free rebooking, and booking tools that show forecast train occupancy. Online ticket holders can use designated terminal lanes, while vehicle registration plates can serve as tickets for automated entry.
