SynBio Arabia is an initiative that aims to raise awareness about synthetic biology and build an Arab community of individuals interested in this field. We strive to create a vast network of researchers and scientists, educate students through various methods, promote awareness, and foster collaboration and partnerships among those interested in the field. Our goals are achieved through regular meetups and gatherings, educational workshops, scientific articles, specialized events, and a newsletter, all conducted in Arabic.

SynBio Arabia was established in 2020 by Youssef Abdelmaksoud, during his tenure as the ambassador for the international genetically engineered machine competition (iGEM) in Africa. We also offer scientific conferences and opportunities to share research experiences.
