About Syndemics Lab
The Syndemics Lab at Boston Medical Center is dedicated to generating and sharing impactful data that shape clinical decision-making and policies concerning the interconnected issues of substance use disorders, overdose, and infectious diseases. Our diverse team brings together expertise in addiction medicine, simulation modeling, healthcare policy, and health economics to focus on the synergistic epidemics of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV), HIV, and substance use disorder. Through microsimulation and cost-effectiveness methods, we conduct economic evaluations of public health guidelines in collaboration with key organizations like the Centers for Disease Control and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Our mission is rooted in real-world experiences, recognizing the interplay between drug use, overdose, and infectious diseases as part of a larger syndemic. Join us in redefining public health strategies and addressing the complex challenges of our time at the Syndemics Lab.
