Synergetic Play Therapy Institute

The Synergetic Play Therapy Institute (SPTI) provides education and resources for professionals who work with children and families. It is home to Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT), a research-informed, neuroscience-based relational approach that combines the therapeutic power of play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, attachment, mindfulness, physics, and therapist authenticity. The model emphasizes connection and the practitioner’s personal development as foundations for supporting children’s healing.

SPTI offers a structured three-level learning journey: an introductory course, a certification program, and advanced training and supervision for certified practitioners. Its other offerings include short online courses, business-of-therapy training, events, and a membership community for SPT-certified professionals. The Institute also provides programs and resources for organizations, educators, parents, and caregivers, along with free webinars, videos, a podcast, a blog, and guidance for finding a provider. Books and publications extend its educational work, including Aggression in Play Therapy, which explores neuroscience-informed ways to understand and respond to intense or aggressive play.
