Syston Sailing

Syston Sailing Club is a community sailing club offering opportunities for people to learn, practise and develop their dinghy sailing skills. Its programme includes Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses for adults, from Level 1 training for beginners to Level 2 and Level 3 instruction for sailors seeking to build their confidence and ability. Topics and advanced course tasters include seamanship, racing, day sailing and spinnaker sailing. Courses are led by volunteer instructors, and successful participants receive certificates.

The club also welcomes prospective members through open days, where visitors can try sailing in a dinghy and learn about membership packages and training options. Beyond lessons, members can take part in club activities and use resources such as the activity calendar, duty rota, manuals and safety guidance. Syston Sailing Club maintains club boats and facilities, including changing rooms, showers and toilets, and provides information on safety, equality and club operations. With beginner instruction, further skills development and opportunities to connect with fellow sailors, the club supports a range of sailing interests.
