Gyöngyház Association is a Hungarian nonprofit organization that has been building inclusive, people-centred communities since 2005. Inspired by the principle of “human scale,” it believes every person is valuable and unique, and works to create environments where people can participate as partners and experience a full life. The association supports people with intellectual disabilities, including autistic people, in Iklad and Eger.

Its services include residential homes, supported living, daytime care and employment. Rather than relying on rigid institutional settings, Gyöngyház aims to provide genuine homes and welcoming, close-knit communities. Creative workshops and shared activities bring colour to daily life, encourage participation and strengthen relationships. The association’s artists also present their work at markets and festivals, while community outings and local initiatives offer opportunities to connect with others.

Through its Szederfa Home chronicle, staff and residents share stories about everyday life in Iklad, including visits, seasonal activities and community events. Gyöngyház works with disability, autism and community organizations, as well as local partners, to advance its mission.
