Szegedi Szittyák

Szittya Traditional Archery Association, known as the Szegedi Szittyák, is an archery organization based in Szeged, Hungary. Founded in 2012, it has nearly 40 members and is described as a leading archery association in the Southern Great Plain region. The association brings together archery as a tradition, sport, recreation and hobby, welcoming children, adults and seniors.

It offers beginner courses led by experienced instructors, with equipment provided, as well as training for established members. The club emphasizes youth development, active community life and the physical, mental and moral benefits of sport. Members take part in regional events across historical, 3D hunting, target, long-distance and cross-country archery. The association also organizes three to four competitions each year, including events in the Southern Great Plain Regional Competition Series, and stages demonstrations in historical dress and association uniform.

Its broader aims include making archery more accessible, encouraging lifelong sporting habits, nurturing young people and developing talented competitors. Training takes place in Szeged, and the association welcomes people interested in trying archery.
