Szigetköz Natúrpark

Szigetköz Natúrpark is a regional nature park association based in Kimle, Hungary, bringing together communities and local partners to support harmony between nature, landscape, and the people who live and work in the region. Its work spans regional and rural development, environmental protection, and tourism, with a focus on valuing and caring for the distinctive Szigetköz landscape.

Located in the Danube’s inland delta, Szigetköz is known for its network of river branches and islands, diverse wildlife, and freshwater resources. The association helps preserve and share this natural and cultural heritage through initiatives such as the Szigetköz Regional Values Archive, which documents local assets and traditions. It also participates in cross-border sustainability education projects with the neighboring Žitný ostrov region, organizes heritage-focused events, and supports community activities, including gardening and volunteer engagement. Its website provides information about member and settlement communities, local values, projects, events, documents, and regional attractions. Through collaboration and public education, Szigetköz Natúrpark encourages residents and visitors to appreciate and protect the region.
