TABEA e. V. is a nonprofit and charitable organization founded in 1992, providing bereavement and end-of-life support in Berlin and across Germany.
Its central focus is accompanying children, teenagers, and families coping with the death or impending loss of a parent or sibling. Eligible support for children and young people around these situations is generally covered, making the service free for them and their parents; other guests may attend as self-paying clients. The organization also offers illness and end-of-life support, specialized counseling and therapy, psycho-oncology, and hospice and palliative services.
Through its academy, TABEA provides certified additional qualifications, in-house training, supervision, and coaching, with a particular emphasis on preparing professionals who work with bereaved people. Its work also includes crisis intervention for schools and the Berlin Quality Center for Bereavement Support. TABEA is based in Berlin-Charlottenburg and shares information about its psychosocial services and training through downloadable materials.
Due to current capacity limits, its bereavement groups are presently reserved for families receiving ongoing support from the organization
