Boy Scouts of America (BSA), was incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by the US Congress in 1916. Transatlantic Council (TAC) began in 1950 at the invitation of the US Department of Defense (DOD). Today, TAC provides unparalleled Scouting to thousands of DOD and non-DOD families overseas across three continents and many time zones. Scouting is adventure, family, fun, character, leadership and so much more. In Scouting, boys and girls discover how to do their best, be prepared, and help other people at all times. It’s fun, hands-on, learning, and achievement that puts youth in the middle of the action and prepares them for today, for the future, for life. Scout me in.

About Transatlantic Council
The Transatlantic Council (TAC) is a Scouting America council serving eligible military, federal, and civilian families across Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East. Its programs help young people build leadership, confidence, resilience, and practical skills through adventure, education, teamwork, and service. With activities and units across more than 57 nations, TAC connects participants with local communities and an international network of Scouts and mentors.
The council offers membership support, registration resources, recruitment materials, advancement guidance, merit badges, and youth and adult awards. Its program portfolio includes camping at locations such as Camp Alpine, Camp Avantura, and Camp Kenya, along with campership assistance, training, and leadership development opportunities including National Youth Leadership Training and Wood Badge. Scouts can also take part in international initiatives, historic trails, sustainability activities, and the Order of the Arrow. Signature experiences include the Normandy Camporee, which brings participants together for adventure, fellowship, service, and remembrance. TAC provides resources for families, units, and volunteers to support Scouting throughout its international community.
