The Thoroughbred & Classic Car Owners Club Incorporated (TACCOC) is a New Zealand club for enthusiasts of classic and thoroughbred cars. Founded in 1976, it began with a focus on English and European sports and grand-touring cars, later expanding to include historic racing cars. The club’s aims include preserving and promoting fellowship among enthusiasts and supporting classic and historic motorsport.
TACCOC has organised race meetings at venues including Whenuapai, Pukekohe, Hampton Downs, Manfeild, Bay Park and Taupo. Its current programme includes three meetings at Hampton Downs. It also runs social activities, such as lunches and picnic drives, and provides the judging team for the Ellerslie Concours d’Elegance. For drivers seeking an introduction to circuit activity, TACCOC’s Classic Trials offer a lower-pressure alternative to full racing.
The club has played a notable role in New Zealand motorsport, including developing early regulations for thoroughbred and classic racing and introducing Regularity Trials to the country in 1998. Prospective members can apply using the registration form available through TACCOC.
