About Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank
Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB) is a state-owned development finance institution focused on accelerating the growth and development of the agriculture sector in Tanzania. Established under the Companies Act in 2002, TADB plays a crucial role in delivering short, medium, and long-term credit facilities for agricultural development. As a key stakeholder and catalyst for the agricultural industry, TADB is dedicated to achieving food self-sufficiency, food security, economic development, and poverty reduction in line with the national goals outlined in Vision 2025.
TADB operates in alignment with the government's Second-Generation Financial Sector Reforms and national policies for agricultural development. The bank has implemented a value chain financing approach, supporting smallholder farmers and promoting agricultural transformation strategies. TADB has also expanded its operations by opening three zonal offices and launching the Smallholder Farmer Credit Guarantee Scheme.
With substantial capital injections from the Government of Tanzania and Agence française de développement (AFD), TADB ensures extensive financing opportunities in the agricultural sector.
