Tag der Franken is an annual celebration of Franconian identity, history, culture and regional life, organized by the District of Middle Franconia together with the host municipality. In 2026, the event takes place on Sunday, July 5, in Treuchtlingen, under the theme “KulturLandFranken,” highlighting the region’s distinctive cultural landscapes and the people who care for them.
The free-ranging city-centre program runs from morning to evening. Visitors can attend an ecumenical service and official opening ceremony, then enjoy live music, dance, traditional costume, theatre and performances on stages and dance floors across town. Featured acts include David Saam and Boxgalopp, the Travelling Playmates, Nobutthefrog and comedian Christoph Maul. A pop-up mobile stage showcases young musicians from Franconia.
Information and sales stands hosted by exhibitors, associations, museums and regional groups offer local products and activities. Families can explore hands-on events, youth activities, museum talks and exhibitions, including a presentation about Franconian cultural landscapes.
