About Transport Accident Investigation Commission
The Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC) is an independent Crown entity dedicated to investigating transport accidents in New Zealand. Led by a Chief Commissioner and four Commissioners, TAIC operates under the Crown Entities Act 2004. With a team of approximately thirty staff and an annual budget of $5 million, TAIC ensures a comprehensive and thorough investigation process.
