By Zen is a couture dressmaking and bridal alterations studio based in Sutton, Surrey, serving brides by appointment. Founded on more than 24 years of couture and bridalwear experience, the studio provides wedding dress fittings, resizing, structural reshaping and complete gown transformations. Services include alterations for dresses requiring reductions of several sizes, bodice restructuring, hidden corsetry, bespoke sleeves, bustle design, lace and beadwork preservation, and custom veils and accessories. Bespoke dressmaking, made-to-measure garments and silk painting are also offered.

The studio’s approach is informed by four years of couture training at the Pakistan Institute of Fashion & Design, where Zen received the Gold Trophy for First Position and Most Outstanding Student. Zen has also worked as an in-house bridal seamstress for leading boutiques and is recommended by several bridal retailers. The atelier works with gowns from a wide range of designers and shares examples of its work through its journal and portfolio. Each bridal alteration is assessed individually, with fitting appointments arranged to suit the gown and wedding schedule.
