Taishan Genealogy is a public-benefit online platform dedicated to digitizing village genealogies and making them accessible to families in Taishan and around the world. The site helps people, including overseas descendants, find ancestral villages, search family records, and explore relationships across generations. Browsing, name searches, family trees, and PDF downloads are free and do not require registration; users need an account to add or correct information.

Families can create a genealogy online at no charge and collaborate to record new members, update details, and address errors. Depending on each genealogy’s settings, changes may take effect immediately or require approval from an administrator. Original source records are preserved alongside corrections for comparison. Visitors can view individual profiles, search by names or alternate forms, and follow lineage charts. Each genealogy can also be exported as a printable PDF, with several layouts and cover options, for a family keepsake. The platform additionally provides village-search tools, usage guides, and reference information about genealogy terminology and historical records.
