Taiteiden Yä

Taiteiden Yä is a free, open cultural event held in Salo, Finland, bringing residents, visitors, artists, businesses and community groups together to celebrate creativity and local culture. Organized by EtnoSalo ry, the event features a varied program across the city, with activities and performances designed for people of all ages. Its 2024 theme, “Roots and Wings,” reflects the value of belonging and shared culture alongside the freedom to explore new ideas and experiences.

Visitors can enjoy live music, dance, circus acts, open-mic performances, street art and participatory workshops. Event marketplaces showcase local artists, craftspeople and entrepreneurs, while the cultural flea market offers art, books, cards and opportunities to learn about creative courses. A large picnic area brings together food vendors and local organizations, offering a range of treats and meals. The program also includes a community art project: a local artist’s design is being painted on electrical cabinets and completed during the event.
