Takovr Project is a volunteer-led organization focused on supporting low-income families who lose a loved one while that person is waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. The organization highlights the financial and emotional strain families can face when they cannot afford life insurance or the costs of burial or cremation. Its mission is to help ease that burden so families can focus on remembering and celebrating their loved one.
Takovr Project raises funds to provide funeral assistance and grief counseling to as many eligible families as possible. Its work is guided by a volunteer board that brings experience in community outreach, accounting, and personal support. The organization was incorporated and is working through the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) status; the site notes that this process was still underway when the information was published.
People can learn more, contact the organization, schedule a meeting, volunteer, or support its efforts through donations.
