About Talkomatic
Talkomatic, the pioneering multi-user chat room, allows real-time text communication in a distinctive way. Founded in 1973 by Doug Brown and David Woolley on the PLATO system, Talkomatic offers a unique experience by showcasing messages being typed letter by letter and providing each participant with their designated space on the screen. Despite the early start of internet chat rooms, Talkomatic predates them, making it a significant innovation.
The current version, Talkomatic. co, is an open-source project spearheaded by Mohd Mahmodi, harnessing the power of web technologies like WebSocket. With versions introducing features like private rooms and Facebook login, Talkomatic remains compatible with major web browsers and mobile devices.
It does not store chat history and offers easy integration into websites through HTML iframes. This client-server application, built on Node. js and Socket.
