Tambuyog Development Center, established in 1984, focuses on addressing declining fishery resources and poverty in coastal communities. Through research, education campaigns, policy advocacy, and community organizing, Tambuyog aims to empower these communities. Originating from the provinces along Lingayen Gulf in Pangasinan, Tambuyog, symbolized by the Pangasinense word for carabao's horn, emphasizes unity in its mission.

One of Tambuyog's notable achievements is the development of a community-based coastal resource management (CBCRM) approach, highlighting the importance of community involvement in resource management. By combining local knowledge with scientific research, Tambuyog aims to bridge the gap for sustainable resource management practices.
