Tampereen Reumayhdistys

Tampereen Reumayhdistys ry is a Finnish association founded in 1947 to advance the interests and rights of people with rheumatic diseases. One of Finland’s oldest and largest rheumatism associations, it helped establish its umbrella organization, the Finnish Rheumatism Association, and now has approximately 1,100 members. The association shares information about rheumatic and other musculoskeletal conditions and their treatment, while offering peer support and opportunities for recreation.

Its support groups serve people with a range of needs and experiences, including young people, children with rheumatism, working-age adults, and people with conditions such as fibromyalgia, Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic sclerosis and polymyalgia. Members and visitors can also take part in activities such as exercise and rehabilitation, craft groups, café events, relaxation sessions and other gatherings. The association provides membership benefits and sells selected products. In Tampere, it also rents out an accessible, light-filled meeting and celebration venue for up to 50 people. Located near the railway station and tram route, the space is available for meetings and events.
