About Trinidad and Tobago Fair Trading Commission
The Trinidad and Tobago Fair Trade Commission (TTFTC) is an independent Statutory Agency established under the Fair Trading Act 2006. As one of the over one hundred competition agencies globally, the TTFTC works towards creating a fairer Trinidad and Tobago for all. With powers to conduct investigations and summon witnesses, the TTFTC carries out its functions to promote and maintain fair competition in the economy.
The organization supports competition because it encourages entrepreneurial activities and market entry, driving competitiveness in the market. The Fair Trading Act serves as an institutional framework for enforcing competition policy in Trinidad and Tobago, addressing major issues. The TTFTC provides various publications, presentations, media releases, and speeches as part of its effort to keep the public informed.
