Tanheath Hounds

Tanheath Hounds is a hunt club based in Pomfret Center, Connecticut, dedicated to preserving the tradition of drag hunting while supporting animal welfare and conservation. Its hunts are drag hunts only: hounds follow a scent trail, and no live foxes are hunted. The club welcomes experienced riders and nature enthusiasts interested in taking part, with membership and volunteer opportunities available.

Throughout the riding and hunting season, Tanheath Hounds organizes hunts alongside Hunter Paces, trail rides, and special social and community events. Its annual schedule includes spring and fall Hunter Paces, with registration information available for upcoming activities. Those new to fox hunting can also join the club for roading.

The club’s work depends on support for its hounds and facilities. Individuals can contribute through donations or by sponsoring a hound, and businesses can explore corporate sponsorship. Tanheath Hounds also shares updates about its hunts, rides, and gatherings on Facebook. Staff and officers help lead the club’s activities and its commitment to tradition, community, conservation, and hound welfare.
