Tanja Huston Books is a children’s literary brand founded by author Tanja Huston, focused on helping young readers feel represented while supporting children’s literacy and community giving. Its stories are told through Juju, a relatable child whose interracial family navigates everyday changes and challenging experiences. In Juju’s Big Surprise, Juju looks forward to welcoming his baby brother, then encounters an unexpected turn. No Playing Frisbee Today addresses Juju’s mother’s cancer and the uncertainty children may feel when life becomes difficult. The books aim to help children see themselves and others in stories, with themes of family, resilience, and belonging.
The online shop offers books, coloring and activity books, Reading Ready products, and Juju-themed pillows and blankets. The site says purchases help support commitments to put $10,000 worth of books into children’s hands and provide $5,000 to help teachers build their libraries. Huston is also a speaker who values coaching, mentoring, and inspiring people to recognize their strengths during challenging times.
