Tap Dance Dictionary

United Taps provides an online tap dance learning resource centered on a free dictionary of tap steps. The dictionary features video breakdowns and written descriptions with counts for 315 moves, covering beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Learners can browse entries alphabetically, search for steps, or explore a syllabus, with levels identified to help users find material suited to their experience. Examples range from foundational actions such as brushes, chugs, and cramp rolls to more challenging combinations and variations.

The site serves both students and tap teachers, offering a reference for understanding and practicing individual steps. United Taps also offers an All Access Pass for students and teachers, along with tap lessons and choreography. The dictionary is presented as a useful learning tool, while the site notes that it does not replace tap dance lessons focused on technique and developing the ability to dance. By combining demonstrations, rhythmic counts, and organized step descriptions, United Taps helps users explore tap vocabulary from introductory moves through demanding advanced patterns.
