Arnaud Calinaud is an upholstery workshop in La Ferté-Alais, France, offering furniture restoration and upholstery services. A professional upholsterer since 1989, Arnaud Calinaud renovates and restores armchairs and other furniture covered in fabric or leather, helping clients give valued pieces a new lease on life. The workshop uses several upholstery methods to suit different needs: traditional construction with horsehair and springs fixed to webbing, contemporary techniques using synthetic foam and profiles, and a semi-traditional approach combining foam padding with webbing and traditional springs. Customers can also commission a seat made from a new frame.

Alongside its restoration work, Arnaud Calinaud shares its craft through small-group upholstery classes in Cerny. Designed for beginners and those looking to improve their skills, the sessions cover foundational techniques and provide opportunities to work on participants’ own pieces with guidance from a professional. Classes run in groups of five to ten, with sessions available on weekday evenings or mornings and afternoons. Each term comprises ten three-hour classes, across three terms per year.
