TAR-TAŞ, 1999 yılında Türkiye'nin en büyük ve en modern soğuk depo tesislerinden biri olarak Bursa ilinin Mustafa Kemalpaşa ilçesinde kuruldu. Aynı yıl içinde TAR-TAŞ, yenilikçi “IQF” yöntemini kullanarak donmuş meyve ve sebze üretimine başladı. Bu başarıyı temel alarak, 2004 yılında başlangıçta kullanılan ünitenin yanına ikinci bir IQF ünitesi eklenerek toplam üretim kapasitesi saatte 4 ton'a yükseltildi.
