Targa Cecina

Targa Cecina is a community tradition organized by the Associazione Targa Cecina in Cecina, Tuscany. Celebrating local folklore, creativity and togetherness, the annual event brings the town’s districts together through artistic displays, performances and sporting competition. Its 65th edition is scheduled for 6–13 September 2026, with seven participating rioni: Campaciocchi, Casine, Marina, Palazzaccio, Palazzi, Ponte and Stazione.

A central feature is the parade of allegorical floats, created by the districts alongside themed costumes and choreographies. Athletes also take part in a town course, where the competition culminates in the presentation of the bronze Targa. The program includes the election of the event’s Madrina and Alfiere, held during Cecina’s July White Night, and the traditional Ferragosto tombola in Marina di Cecina. The association also promotes photography through a contest focused on the parade and shares event news, galleries and information about each district. Targa Cecina celebrates local identity while encouraging participation, inclusion and connections with the town’s sister communities.
