Tarporley & District Angling Club is a friendly angling organisation based in and around Tarporley, Cheshire. Founded in 1919 with around 30 members, it is one of the country’s longest-established fishing clubs. The club welcomes applications for membership when places are available, with new members accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Members can fish at around eight waters within ten miles of Tarporley. These include The Dell Farm Pond, Kelsall Pit, Little Budworth Mill Pool, Little Mill, Llangollen Canal, Oasis Pool, Oulton Mill Pool, Poplars Pool and the Shropshire Union Canal. The club fully owns Little Mill Pool, acquired in the 1970s.
Tarporley & District Angling Club organises several member fishing matches, mainly during summer, as well as 12-hour and 24-hour carp competitions. Its website provides information on club waters, fishing and match rules, membership fees, competition winners, record catches and news. Prospective members can download an application form, while members and visitors can contact the club secretary for further information.
