Tarra Wedman Pottery is the studio and gallery of Alberta potter Tarra Wedman, based in Fallis, a rural community near Wabamun Lake. With more than 25 years of experience, Tarra works full time creating ceramic pieces, drawing on the possibilities of clay and continuing to explore and master new techniques. Her work is made primarily from stoneware and porcelain, which she fires in a gas kiln.
Tarra’s designs reflect the natural surroundings she observes every day, including gardens, forests, and the landscape of Wabamun Lake. A lifelong sketch artist, she develops original patterns to adorn her ceramics, combining thoughtful decoration with the practical appeal of useful objects. Her work is intended to be used and enjoyed, connecting contemporary pottery with a long tradition of handcraft.
