The Scottish Tartans Authority is a registered charity and the leading organization committed to preserving, promoting, and safeguarding Tartan. Established in 1995 as a Scottish Registered Charity, our mission is to protect the heritage, history, production, utilization, and evolution of Scottish Tartans and Highland Dress. We collaborate with various public and private entities, providing expert advice and guidance. We warmly welcome new members, both individuals and organizations, who share our passion and dedication.
At present, we are diligently working on developing a new website that will better align with our educational role and cater to the diverse needs of our members and stakeholders. Our objective is to launch the redesigned website by spring 2024. In the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to us using the provided links and channels. Additionally, for those interested in finding a specific tartan, we recommend visiting The Scottish Register of Tartans. It boasts an extensive database with information on thousands of tartans and is supported by The Scottish Tartans Authority. For any inquiries, please contact us via [email protected].
