The Tasmanian Autumn Festival is a month-long celebration hosted by the Derwent Valley and Central Highlands Tourism Association. Held from 1 to 30 April, the festival showcases the region’s history, culture, landscapes and seasonal produce, bringing visitors and local businesses together to experience autumn in Tasmania. Its program encourages exploration through scenic trails, food and drink, local shopping and natural attractions.
The Tipple Trail features regional beverage producers offering cool-climate wines, small-batch beers, craft ciders and spirits, served by the glass, flight or nip. The Foodie Trail highlights autumn specialties at cafes, kiosks, galleries and pubs, with options to enjoy a meal or take treats away for a picnic. In New Norfolk, a retail roundup introduces visitors to antiques, homewares, stationery, books and distinctive finds.
The festival also points visitors toward accommodation, from camping and field-stays to farmhouses and cottages, and celebrates natural highlights including Mount Field National Park, Lake St Clair and the turning of the fagus.
