About Tassutarha
Tassutarha is an animal shelter in Kotimäki, in the municipality of Lemi, serving the South Karelia area of Lappeenranta, Lemi, Luumäki, Savitaipale and Taipalsaari. It cares for lost animals, especially cats, as well as occasional stray dogs and other pets. Tassutarha also helps find homes for animals that have become homeless.
The shelter aims to provide a calm, safe environment and to meet each animal’s species-specific and individual needs, with animals handled professionally and kindly. In addition to shelter services, Tassutarha offers microchipping for pets and training for cats and horses. The business also includes small-scale Finnish horse breeding.
Firewood is available as an additional offering. Visits to the shelter are by prior arrangement, allowing the team to care for the animals and respect their home environment. Tassutarha is guided by a commitment to the wellbeing and safety of both animals and people, alongside efforts to reduce unnecessary environmental impact
