Tathra Amateur Fishing Club

Tathra Amateur Fishing Club is a community-focused fishing club based at Kianniny Bay in Tathra, New South Wales. Bringing together local anglers, visitors and families, it offers opportunities to fish, compete and connect while supporting the coastal community and the future of its clubhouse. Members can take part in six annual competitions, interclub events and sanctioned tournaments, including the Tathra Game Fishing Classic, a Southern Zone event that attracts boats from across the NSW coast. Other highlights include the Australia Day, Easter, Snapper Shootout, Topwater Classic and Christmas competitions.

The club welcomes anglers of all experience levels, as well as juniors, women, families and social members. Its programs include free junior membership and dedicated competitions, women’s fishing days, social gatherings and family-friendly events. Competitions and events often bring members back to the clubhouse for barbecues and refreshments. Kianniny Bay provides a protected coastal launch point, boat ramp and ocean access, alongside fish-cleaning tables, parking, a clubhouse, communal barbecue area and children’s playground.
