B.A.S. Tattoo Apprenticeship Program

Ink Different is a tattoo apprenticeship organization that connects aspiring artists with hands-on training at partner studios across the United States and Puerto Rico. Since 2011, it has helped tattoo shop owners build their teams while offering a structured alternative to traditional college or trade-school paths. Its 18-to-24-month apprenticeship is designed for serious candidates, including people with no prior tattooing experience, and provides training alongside working tattoo artists.

Ink Different says eligible graduates receive a guaranteed job offer, giving the program a direct link between training and employment. Applicants can explore more than 60 studios across 56 cities and 26 states, plus Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico, and use location tools to find a nearby opportunity. The organization also offers resources to help prospective apprentices compare training costs, plans, materials, licensing, and job opportunities.
