About Taubman Museum
The Taubman Museum of Art, situated in the vibrant downtown of Roanoke, Virginia, is a cultural cornerstone that celebrates art and community engagement. Designed by renowned architect Randall Stout, the museum features striking architectural elements such as a 77-foot glass peak that reflects the iconic Roanoke Star and an undulating roofline inspired by the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The museum boasts eleven galleries, including the Fralin Center for American Art, showcasing 15-20 rotating exhibitions annually from acclaimed artists like Kehinde Wiley and Norman Rockwell, alongside a permanent collection of around 2,400 works by notable figures such as John Singer Sargent and Petah Coyne.
With a commitment to accessibility, the Taubman Museum of Art offers free general admission, thanks in part to AEP's generous support, and hosts various programs, including summer camps, art parties, and community events.
