About Tāwhaki
Tāwhaki Joint Venture is a brand that embodies a powerful dual kaupapa, or purpose. Firstly, they are committed to healing and rejuvenating the breathtaking whenua, or land, at Kaitorete. This area holds immense cultural significance, boasting an abundance of mahinga kai, taonga species, and a rich history.
It is home to rare and threatened flora and fauna species of international importance. Tāwhaki's second kaupapa is advancing Aotearoa's aerospace industry. By developing aerospace activities and research facilities on the whenua, they aim to create substantial economic outcomes through job creation and capital investment.
Located just 50 minutes from Ōtautahi, Kaitorete offers a well-located launch site with access to desirable orbits and proximity to a highly skilled workforce and world-class universities. Tāwhaki is already receiving widespread interest and support for their visionary goals. They are guided by four strategic priorities: Tangata (mana whenua), Taiao (whenua), Ara Tukutuku (aerospace partnerships), and Whakatupu (growth).
With a strong focus on collaboration and cultural and environmental protection, Tāwhaki is poised to become a world-leading indigenous partner in both land rejuvenation and aerospace innovation. Welcome to the exciting future of Tāwhaki Joint Venture
