The Tampa Bay Estuary Program (TBEP) is a nationally recognized brand that focuses on restoring and protecting Tampa Bay through the implementation of a scientifically sound, community-based management plan. Established in 1991, TBEP works in partnership with various stakeholders to achieve their mission. They prioritize three central program areas: Clean Waters and Sediments, Thriving Habitats and Abundant Wildlife, and an Informed, Engaged, and Responsible Community.

TBEP's work is overseen by a Policy Board and a Management Board, and they also collaborate with committees consisting of scientists, managers, industry representatives, regulators, and community members. As one of the 28 National Estuary Programs designated by Congress, TBEP follows a science-based plan and actively engages with the public, academia, and public and private sector partners to protect and enhance the natural resources of Tampa Bay and its surrounding watershed. With a commitment to scientific integrity, collaboration, and communication, TBEP aims to foster cleaner waters, thriving habitats, and abundant wildlife in the Tampa Bay region
