About Type Directors Club
The Type Directors Club (TDC) is a renowned brand that celebrates and showcases the power of typography. Established in 1946, the TDC is a global community that believes in the profound influence of type on culture and vice versa. Their mission is to build a strong typographic community through public events and platforms, support the growth of students and early career professionals, and recognize excellence in type design worldwide.
Every year, the TDC organizes various typographic competitions, resulting in a Typography Annual that showcases the best work in the field. They also coordinate eight traveling exhibits of award-winning designs. In addition to these initiatives, the TDC hosts conferences, courses, workshops, exhibitions, and frequent Type Salons, both in New York City and at other institutions.
