About Teach For Kenya
Teach For Kenya is an NGO registered under the NGO Act, dedicated to championing Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education. Our mission is to eliminate the barriers preventing Kenyan children from unlocking their full potential. We believe that leadership can be utilized as a powerful tool to achieve this goal.
To bring about education reform, we take a multidisciplinary approach. We view teaching as collective leadership, with students representing the promise of a brighter future for all Kenyans. Our two-year paid fellowship program places high-potential graduates from Kenyan universities as teaching fellows in the country's most high-need schools.
By working together at all levels, including in schools, government, and communities, we aim to transform the systems that hold children back from reaching their potential. Despite the numerous interventions in place, more than 1 million school-age children in Kenya still lack access to quality education due to socioeconomic, cultural, and systemic barriers. Teach For Kenya is committed to bridging these inequality gaps in our education system.
